Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of a combined 585nm Pulsed-dye laser /1064nm Nd:YAG laser in the treatment of acne. Methods A total of 59 cases with moderate to severe acne were recruited for the study and randomly divided into the combined laser group and the red-blue light group. The experimental group was treated with the combined laser, while the control group was treated with the red-blue light. The efficacy was compared before and after the treatment by counting the acne lesions. Results Finally, 57 patients completed the trial. After treatment, the average lesion count of the two groups were dropped significantly (P<0.001). The combination laser therapy was better than red-blue light to papule, pustule at early time (P<0.05). At eighth week after treatment, the laser therapy was also better than red-blue light to cyst/nodule (P<0.05). And finally, the efficacy was 82.14% in the combined laser group and 72.41% in the red-blue light group (P<0.001)。The adverse effects in the laser group were transient erythema and purpura. However, side effect wasn't seen in the light group. Conclusion A combined 585nm Pulsed-dye laser /1064nm Nd:YAG laser in the treatment of moderate to severe acne is safe and better than the red-blue light. The main adverse effects are transient erythema and purpura.
