Objective:Compare the efficacy and safety of long-pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG laser and 1320nm/1440nm Nd:YAG non-ablative fractional laser in the treatment of acne related Post-inflammatory erythema. Methods:Fourteen patients with acne related Post-inflammatory erythema were enrolled.Patients sides of the faces were randomized to receive treatment with a long-pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG laser or a 1320nm/1440nm Nd:YAG non-ablative fractional laser for a total of four treatments at 4-week intervals. Before each treatment and 4 weeks after the last treatment, the same VISIA skin detector was used to take pictures by fixed personnel under the same light condition and at the same angle, the number of acne related Post-inflammatory erythema was quantified into a quartile grading scale before and after treatment, the color of acne related Post-inflammatory erythema was quantified into four-point post-acne erythema severity grading before and after treatment. After each treatment,a pain scale was filled in,adverse reactions were recorded, and a self-satisfaction scale was filled in at the last follow-up.Results:1.The number of acne related Post-inflammatory erythema:Both lasers had significant effect on acne related Post-inflammatory erythema,Mean scores of the quartile grading were 3.00±0.58 in long-pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG laser-treated site and 4.38±0.65 in 1320nm/1440nm Nd:YAG non-ablative fractional laser-treated site, with no significant difference(P>0.05).2.Four-Point Post-Acne Erythema Severity:Both lasers have definite effect on acne related Post-inflammatory erythema, there was no significant difference in the Four-Point Post-Acne Erythema Severity before the treatment of the long-pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG laser side and 1320nm/1440nm Nd:YAG non-ablative fractional laser side(P>0.05),both sides have statistically significant differences in the Four-Point Post-Acne Erythema Severity after treatment(Z=-2.000,P<0.05),1320nm/1440nm Nd:YAG non-ablative fractional laser side is more effective than long-pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG side. There was a statistically significant difference of the Four-Point Post-Acne Erythema Severity in the patients with long-pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG laser before and after treatment(Z=-3.127,P>0.05),it suggests Long-pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG laser side treatment is effective. There was a statistically significant difference of the Four-Point Post-Acne Erythema Severity in the patients with 1320nm/1440nm Nd:YAG non-ablative fractional laser before and after treatment(Z=-3.127,P>0.05),it suggests 1320nm/1440nm Nd:YAG non-ablative fractional laser side treatment is effective.3.Patient self-satisfaction evaluation:The patients self-satisfaction of bilateral face after treatment was 100%.Mean scores of Patient self-satisfaction were 3.00±0.58 in long-pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG laser-treated sites and 3.31±0.48 in 1320/1440nm Nd:YAG non-ablative fractional laser-treated sites, with no significant difference(P>0.05).4.Adverse reaction evaluation:There was no significant difference between the both two lasers in the degree of pain, severity of edema and edema regression time(P>0.05).It was heavier erythema and more regression time on 1320nm/1440nm Nd:YAG non-ablative fractional laser sides than long-pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG laser sides(P<0.05).In addition, there were 1 case of blister occured after long-pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG laser treatment.Concliusion:Both two lasers are effective in the treatment of acne related Post-inflammatory erythema. In terms of Four-Point Post-Acne Erythema Severity,1320nm/1440nm Nd:YAG non-ablative fractional laser has better efficacy than long-pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG laser; The patients self-satisfaction of bilateral face after treatments was 100%,with no significant difference. The 1320nm/1440nm Nd:YAG non-ablative fractional laser has heavier erythema and more regression time after treatments. Both two lasers are effective and safe in the treatment of acne related Post-inflammatory,which is suitable for clinical promotion.
