The Art Explore On Caodongfu Of Guzheng

Guzheng, one of Chinese traditional instrument, boasts a long history in our country. There are many different schools about Guzheng, among which Henan School is a very significant one. Caodongfu, the representative and founder of Henan School, is a famous performer and educator on Guzheng. Working hard on a variety of Chinese culture and art, he not only inherited predecessors'art essence, but innovated many new things as well. All he have done made great contribution to the art of Henan ,even Chinese Guzheng.By reading relevant literature, acknowledging Caodongfu's life and cultural background, I listens to the Audiovisual materials of his performance on Guzheng , appreciates his performing essence, then gets his values and aesthetics thought on the art on Caodongfu of Guzheng. This thesis consists of four chapters: the first chaper analyzes the growing, developing, mature and glorious period of Guzheng through viewing Cao's stage of teenager, youth, middle age and old age; the second one takes researches on Caodongfu's esthetic features through compositions and famous works; the third one steps on Cao's status and influence on Guzheng schools; the last chapter lists Caodongful's limitations by using Materialist dialectics perspective.
