Dulcimer is a wide range of both universal and distinct nationality hit stringed instruments. It has a long history , many varieties and is widely distributed around the world. After several hundred years of development, dulcimer has formed a unique style of performance characteristics from introduced into China . In its development process, Dulcimer show the characteristics of the inclusive and great vitality. In concert form, Dulcimer has developed as both accompaniment, solo, ensemble playing and other forms of the main national instrument from the initial stage opera accompaniment instrument. In recent years, dulcimer ensemble has being gradually accepted and liked by composers and performers. Instrumental ensemble is an important form of instrumental music form. It is a multi-voice instrumental music and playing form which each part played by different person, where each instrument plays a single voice, and the role of the voice is not all primary and secondary points. According to the Ministry of Sound music and the number of players ,it can be divided into duet, trio, to seven Trio, Octet, etc.Dulcimer ensemble is a very unique playing form in its development process of art. Its appearance affected the dulcimer art development to some extent. Although opposed to solo or slow its development is slow, more and more people have their attention on it. After many people's hard work, dulcimer playing has developed a lot on playing techniques, instruments improvement, theory, performance forms, teaching and other aspects. It promotes the development of the dulcimer ensemble playing form. In addition, players also need to further improve and enrich their artistic accomplishments and culture, enhance the sense of cooperation, to perfect the performance of music content of the work.This paper discusses the important playing form of dulcimer ensemble.
