As the state and society's emphasis on mental health education of college students, more and more mental health education are brought into the classroom which publicize the mental health knowledge through the mental health courses. This study takes an example of Jiangxi province by using self-compiled questionnaire to investigate the status of 52 universities of Mental Health Education Curriculum. The results show that there are 15 universities opening up the compulsory courses and there are 10 universities opening up the compulsory courses but also the elective ones. There are 19 universities opening up the elective courses only and 8 universities have no related courses at the colleges. Most colleges and universities can be seen set up such courses and established a combination of full-time and part-time teachers.Mental health education has shown preliminary results obtained by the widely recognized by college students.The survey also reveals some problems in the process of building Mental health education course, such as quite different between at different levels of schools, universities better than colleges, Public institutions better than private, The course of arrangements hours, starting time, teaching materials show a bit of confusing, so the practical effect of course is not very good. The main reasons for these problems are some understanding of biased on the mental health courses, ambiguous location and target, contents which lack of specific targets, few studies on the characteristics and teaching rules of the courses, lack of innovation in teaching methods, Irrational structure of teachers and there are few full-time teachers and psychology teachers and so on.This study suggests that the following aspects need to strengthen and improve mental health education program:First, clear the nature of mental health education curriculum, it is a course which promotes the development of all students, not only discuss the psychological problems of course; The main task of this course is to help students build mental health awareness, optimizing mental quality, and enhance psychological adjustment, prevention and mitigation of psychological problems; teaching contents should be based on psychological characteristics, highlighting the scientific and targeted; courses should take a set of forms:compulsory in freshman combining elective courses in others,classroom teaching should combine with activity courses; Course Evaluation should include objectives, contents, teaching methods and results, which can choose qualitative evaluation and quantitative evaluation methods. In order to improve teaching effectiveness of this course, also need to improve mental health education curriculum support system and to improve the professional quality of teachers and teaching ability, strengthen the teaching rules, and promote mental health education curriculum scientific, standardized and effective start.
