This article reviews the land reform in Lin County, Shanxi Province from 1946 to 1948.Lin County is an old liberated area as it established CPC political power in 1940, and with the close distance from the shan-gan-ning region, the county carried out CPC's land policy completely. Under the impetus of these movements, such as reduction of rent and interest, burden of peasants, mass exposion and criticism of traitor, the land problems in Lin County had been settled basically before "May 4th" instructions in 1946.But under the influence of fierce land reform in jin-ji-lu-yu base area, the achievement of land reform in the whole Jin-sui base area was denied. In March 1947, under the leadership of Kang sheng, the land reform group of the central committee of the CPC launched pilot land reform in Haojiapo Village, Lin County. Then, Jin-Sui sub-office carried forward the land reform layer by layer. But it turned out to be a serious phenomenon that there were some strikes and kills without discrimination in Lin County, which resulted in a great loss to people's lives and properties. From this article, we find that the influence which the pilot land reform led by Kang sheng in Haojiapo had its limitaton on the latter'overdo'land reform in Lin country. The heavy burden of peasants from CPC, the inconstant land reform polices and the criticisms to Jin-sui cadres by Liu Shaoqi also played very important roles in the'overdo'of party consolidation during the land reform in Lin country. After the openning of working conference of the central committee of the CPC in the end of 1947, Lin County began the work of'correcting the wrongs'under the guide of Jin-Sui sub-office, nevertheless there still left some problems during the practical operation.
