In the area of contemporary literature, there is a writer comes from Henan ,Yan Lianke who consists of focusing his eyes on the bottom ranks and vulnerable groups. He describes the sufferable, tragic pictures for readers. This thesis is written on the base of Yan Lianke's works and talks. It is also melted with his experience, taking back on emotional experience and rational analyze. It cast in with suffering and redemption. The anglel of this thesis are joining of the whole thing and its every parts ,aiming at analyzing how to face life and how to explore lights of dream in the spiritual ruins as a writer.The first chapter is prelude. It will mainly discuss the present study conditions on Yan Lianke in china and aboard, and the goal and meaning of this research. The second chapter we will talk about the original reason of his suffering writing. On one hand, Yan Lianke's memory of childhood helps much for the inner and profound forming of suffer in his works, On the other hand, his writing style is head by reading, thinking and absorbing form others. In the third Chapter it is suffering in historical memories to be discussed. There are many kinds of historical suffering in Yan Lianke's description. Poverty, power, the Cultural Revolution, and a variety of factors such as residual disease by their body and mind to be added resulting from the trauma. In the forth Chapter it describes the plight of reality in contemporary social. Industrial civilization and the rapid development of science and technology, to bring contemporary literature no longer is a survival of the secular nature of the suffering of color, but with the loss of faith in the spirit of suffering, Yan Lianke explained in the novel the suffering of the materialistic, in city and town, human desolation, desire expansion, moral decline, the destruction of nature and so on. In the fifth chapter it displays the salvation of suffering. In this chapter we find two kinds of salvation ways: to fight in desperation and return to spirit of homeland. Although his expression of salvation are not perfect, but his expression of suffering and desperation should be noticed by people. In the last it discusses the value of Yan Lianke's works to contemporary social as conclusion , and pointed out that in the creation of his shortcomings.
