The Two Piano Cycles Research Of Schumann

As the greatest Romantic musical poet in German Musical world, Schumann wrote a large amount of works characterized by Romanticism. Especially in the piano music, he created piano cycle, and brought personalized musical piece to the extreme. His music springs from the sound of heart and soul, exquisite ,elegant ,full of deep implication while his piano compositions with special music grammar and style became an obligatory course in our piano study ever since .This essay is intended to investigate and study Schumann's two piano cycles and have a good command of his style and creative thought, recognize its significance in teaching.The article is supposed to be divided into three chapters .The first one offers a brief introduction to Schumann's works and his life. In this chapter, Schumann's brief and legendary artistic career is based on three important events which influenced his whole life. Furthermore, it makes a simple introduction to the various kinds of his musical works and the creative tendency in different eras. Finally, it lists all the piano-2-works which the author considered as Schumann's cycle.The second chapter briefs the creative style and characteristics of Schumann's piano cycle. This chapter interprets the creative background, creative source, the music language, the title of works, musical notation and some other parts. It makes the recognition of Schumann more clearly and completely and helps understand the works and grasp the style better.The third chapter introduce Schumann's creative intention and the emotion to be expressed, and the marvelous effect produced by his unique artistic technique by means of analyzing the two cycles. It briefs the author's feeling and suggestion in the play.
