In Song dynasty, when everyone was celebrating peace, over 100 poems written by over ten monks were kept until now. Nowadays seldom scholars pay attention to them for the special status of the monk poets and the verses themselves were not the essence of Song dynasty. But the study of the poems and the special monk group can help us go deep into the literal circles and the society of Song dynasty, and the monks' concealed feelings and concern for the society as well. The monks expressed their sentiments to lives from different aspects such as the Buddhist doctrine, landscapes and love stories. Their Buddhist doctrine poems, aiming at advocating Buddhist doctrines as well as expressing their experiences in realizing Buddhist doctrines, showed their promotion and understanding to the Buddhist doctrines, which was greatly different from other poets' king of Buddhist understanding. They could well express the Buddhist doctrines besides fitting to the rhythm. Their landscape poems, because of the poems in the flowers style, the sober words and the lucid artistic conception, showed the sense of freshness and gentleness. As bystanders, they lacked the real experience of the earthly lives but augment the Buddhist influence, which made them kind of free and easy and take things as they come. So their poets vestured in a kind of lustration and sedateness, all that reflected their tranquil and comfort living attitude. Their love poems were greatly appealing. The poems written by Zhongshu showed delicate and drifting sensibility. The poems written by Huihong exposed a kind of life experience feeling. Therefore all the love poems possessed a feeling out of emotions. These poems did not relate to obscenity. They were natural and candid, reflecting the monk poets' unique internal world and feeling experience. And the description poems, though without high literal value, also obviously reflected the poem style and trend of Song dynasty. Their poems presented description style and features' changing between the nonego and feeling. The monks' other verses with different contents and feelings also showed their concern for the society and the internal undistinguishable feelings. Comparing their verses with the same time poems, appreciating the literal sense of beauty, exploring the concealed origin, all that can make us further understand the monks and further realize the true life as well as the humanity of the society.
