Research On The "Yinxun" ("音训")in The Manuscript Of Eryayishu (《尔雅义疏》)Corrected By Huang Kan

This thesis studies the nature of "yin xun" based on the material of "yin xun" in the Manuscript of Eryayishu (《尔雅义疏》) Corrected by Huang Kan, by analyzing and summarizing its main contents, explaining principles and performance. On the aspect of methodology, it points out that here "yin xun", means an explaining method (explaining the meaning of character by its phonetics) which was created by Mr. Huang Kan on the basis of traditional theory and methodology. This methodology's discipline explains the meaning of ancient Chinese character. And on the aspects of contents, it means Mr. Huang Kan's explaining practice and achievements. The main content of this practice is explaining words, correcting character, telling out "jia jie", and delving into the derivation of language, which came into being in the course of Mr. Huang Kan correcting and revising the scriptures, Guo's notes and Hao's explanation comprehensively. The emphasis of this thesis is excavating the value of this method both on the methodology and in practice and analyzing some negligence of "yin xun".Besides the introduction and conclusion, this thesis contains three chapters: the first chapter gives an introduction of the principles and performance of "yin xun" in Mr. Huang Kan's book, talks about the main contents of "yin xun", and analyzes its nature; the second chapter discusses the achievements and contribution of "yin xun"; the third chapter analyzes some negligence of "yin xun" in practice on the basis of former studies.
