Research On DongFang Shuo

Dongfang Shuo was the chamberlain of the Emperor Wu, as well as a famous litterateur of XiHan Dynasty. He was legendized with several roles by the later generations, but in fact he was a sorehead literati with clear head to the politics and independent personality, In the thesis his experience, his thought and his works are studied on the basis of former research and the historical fact about him to present his actual image.The thesis is divided into four parts:The first part briefly introduces the former research, and the object of the thesis.The second part presents his experience and his works.His thought is studied in the third part. His thought was very multifarious, so the study is focus on the cause and connotation of his thought as an official and a hermit at the same time, and its important meaning in the history.His works are studied in the last part. His main works, such as "Da Ke Nan", "Fei You Xian Sheng Lun", "Shang Shu Zi Jian", are briefly analyzed and their historical roles and influences are also presented.
