Performance seem like one kind of art fall of mystery .You could only feel it in your mind without one word to express then, say, you sensed it wordlessly, and it stayed for a long time like that.Because of this, the thesis explores the philosophic base of performance, elaborates performance about the shaping of symbolic form of sociology and analyses the structure of performance on symbolism of regards the artistic symbol as organic and entire form. This paper was composed by three parts besides the preface and verdict.The fist part began with the noumenon principle of performance. First of all, it clarified the origin of performance, proved that performance was one way of expression of human behavior from three aspects logic media and narration. Then the author conclude that should not research into performance on the basis of script or screen, but find its origin from human mind and human behavior. This is an entrance to the research on performance for it revealed the noumenon of performance and made it possible that we could infer the logic law of performance step by step.After going definition to the saying that performance was are expression way of human behavior Then this paper differentiate the broad sense and narrow sense in defining the meaning of performance Though they are nearly the same one in noumenon and logic law, this paper especially set apart performance as art form them, say the arts of performance and expo some necessary conditions under this kind of art.Differing from common symbolic theories, performance symbolism was a new sociology thought the author thought that as a kind of special symbol, performance was the form, which could systemically show human inner feelings and make us know. The form was a kind of logical form expressional from and living form at some degrees。The third part , analyzed the encoding law of sign system on performance arts .From this, the thesis reveals performance as independent and self-sufficiency texts world.
