The rapid development of computer assisted language learning (CALL) has exerted a highly significant influence on college English teaching and learning. From the perspective of language listening teaching and learning, the traditional listening teaching method can not bring the learners'initiative into full play, so it is important to have a more scientific teaching and learning method for language listening. This thesis intends to explore a brand new listening teaching model-Interactive Self-Access Listening(ISL) teaching model in MCALL environment and test its effectiveness in practical teaching implementation. In order to test the effectiveness of ISL and students'attitude toward ISL, the author applied the model to the listening classes of two non-major freshmen of Jilin University. The author also designed a questionnaire and an interview. After the quantitative and qualitative data-collection and analysis, a conclusion was reached that most of the students show positive attitudes towards ISL and this model is effective to a large degree in the process of listening. ISL can encourage students to communicate in a quasi-authentic situation. It can also lower students classroom anxiety and create a comfortable, relaxing environment for language acquisition rather than language learning, in which students can pick up language unconsciously and spontaneously. Thus it enhances students' confidence and self-esteem which are vital for language acquisition. Moreover, it can help students to develop their communicative competence in the long run and consolidate their linguistic knowledge.
