Teaching is one of the domains cognitive psychology researches. Cognitive psychology emphasizes researching into cognitive structure and procedure. It provides many research fruits and theoretic illuminations for nowadays teaching modes, methods and instruments, appraisal, managements and so on. Relied on theories of cognitive psychology and with a new angle of view, the paper strives for a new thinking mode that avails the teaching of sight singing and ear training. It adopts such methods as theories researching, compare researching, and experiments analysis and discusses the teaching practice in advanced teacher-training schools. At first, through reviewing nowadays status and developments of the teaching of sight singing and ear training in the schools, this paper presents this subject's objects, functions, and rules. At last, the paper advances some measures how to apply cognitive psychology to improve the teaching. Moreover it researches and demonstrates memory psychology and cognitive strategy teaching in sight singing and ear training. The discussions of cognitive strategy teaching emphasize combination of metacognition theories and its teaching practice. Based on the discussions, the paper brings forward a new knowledge and some new viewpoints, which is expected to play an inspiring role in the forward teaching of sight singing and ear training.
