A Study On The Vietnamese Administrative Toponyms

This article, mainly with the help of literature analysis, statistical analysis and so on, and through the rearrangement, the induction to the massive between China and Vietnam correlative data, and the reference, the quotation correlative research results, to analyzes the Vietnamese toponyms from the cultural linguistics angle, thus expounding its rich cultural connotation. It first introduces the Vietnamese past dynasties territory and the prefecture of the state, the change,and next starts with the evolution of the administrative areas through the past dynasties; and then induces its naming type of toponyms;and forther then discusses its language features of toponyms; Then from the geographical name and the influence of Chinese culture on Vietnam, the geographical name and the nationality migrates,the geographical name and industrial-commercial-agricultural activities, geographical name and people's psychology, geographical name and religious activities and so on can be spotted, thus promulgateing the cultural connotation of Vietnamese administration geographical name which will be the article's focal point. Finally, the article raises some questions for its evolution process.
