Creativity has clear benefits for individuals and society as a whole. Not surprisingly, a great deal of research has focused on creativity, especially in the fields of education and psychology. .However, there is few reports on how to improve the creativity of most parts of students. Two main reasons as following can explain the phenomenon: One is because more argument than agreement on creative thinking and its training for their one-sided understanding of the essence of creativity; The other is most creativity theories and trainings appeared without positive researches which cause the separation between theory and practice. There are few teaching method developed on basis of the key creative theories by positive research. Therefore, it is a worthy study to develop an effective teaching model and a series of teaching strategies which can improve most students' creative thinking.Creative Association (CA) refers to the thinking ways that linking remote semantic concepts or phenomenon with each other to create a new one by finding intentionally the common factors or similar among them. It is also a process unifying the divergent thinking and the convergent thinking. The Imagery of Concept (IC) is the representation shift processing to convey most clearly the essence meaning of an concept by means of visual image. The Imagery of Concept (IC) includes those thinking phase such as Integrating Concept's Features (ICF), Understanding by Spreading Activation (USA), Reverberating Features by Analogy (RFA) and Conveying Bias in Function (CBF). On basis of the IC, the Teaching Model of the Imagery of Concept (TMIC) includes those teaching stages such as Presenting Concept with Image (PCI), Distinguishing the Essence of Concept (DEC), Reverberating Representation by Analogy (RRA) and Expressing Concept by Image (ECI). Because the CIP is also a thinking way of clearing the essence meaning of concepts, linking with more things, unifying the thinking in logic and arts and binding object to subject, Thus, the Teaching of Imagery of Concept (TIC) will have great influence on creative association. This study puts forward two new concepts such as The Imagery of Concept (IC)and the Teaching of Imagery of Concept (TIC)which bring out a new way to learn cognitive process of shifting from abstract thinking and concrete thinking. It also provides reference to the reform of teaching and the training of the students' creativity. The data showed that the TIC can improve significantly the students' ability of creative association. Meanwhile, The Creative Association Test for Pupil (CATP) was developed firstly to collect the data from the training experiment and it also can be used as a scientific test instrument for the future research on creative association .Integrating the main theories and practice about creative association from psychology, education and aesthetic cognitive and other fields. The positive study was conducted by means of experimental method and test method. The data collected from experiment, test, school performances were deal with in statistics by mean, variation, correlation and regression. The results showed that:( 1 ) The Creative Association Test for Pupil (CATP) has high reliability and validity.( 2 ) There are significant differences on schools and grades but sex about their ability of the creative association. The ability of the students from good schools is significantly better than that from ordinary schools. The ability of the students from Grade five is significantly better than that from Grade three.( 3 ) The Teaching of Imagery of Concept (TIC)influenced significantly on improvement of the creative association of pupils from experimental groups..( 4 ) The students from Grade five had higher score of CATP significantly in the later test than that from Grade three after the TIC. The students from experimental group in Grade five had higher score significantly on the divergent association than that from controlled group after the training of CIPI.( 5 ) The girls had higher score of CATP significantly than the boys after the TIC. The girls from in grade five had higher score significantly on the remote association of concepts in different fields than boys after the TIC.( 6 ) The Teaching of Imagery of Concept (TIC)has a significant influence on improvement of the pupil's ability of integrating remote semantic concepts across disciplines.
