The Comparative Analysis Of Chinese Traditional Dulcimer Schools

In the 1920s, there were four main traditional dulcimer schools in China. They are dulcimer schools in Guangdong, Jiangnan, Sichuan and Northeast of China. I put the four main Chinese dulcimer schools together in order to try to make a comparison comprehensively.This article contains two parts:The first part: I outline and analyze representative persons and compositions, ways and skills of performance in the four main Chinese dulcimer schools. then, I summarize the main style and characteristic of these four dulcimer schools.The second part: comparative studies. I will make a comparison in ways and skills of performance, the structures of compositions, the choices of subject, and the music settlement so that I can find the similarities and differences in the four Chinese dulcimer schools.
