The period of childhood is very important for the development of individual mental and behavior. People pay much attention to the foster of children's healthy personality. Thereinto, the ability of coping stress and frustration is one of the nuclear ability of healthy pullulation of children. But, on one hand the research on the ways of coping mainly focus on teen-age and adult, whereas few on the pupils; on the other hand, we have no adequate valid tools. This research is based on such a standpoint and hopes to be possibly deepened. Meantime, the research on it could provide the basis of theory and reality to the education of personality in the school.Firstly,weave the tool to test the pupils'ways of coping.The self-value questionnaire of pupils` ways of coping is compiled on the base of structural interview,natural observation,open questionnaire and theory-deduced. The reliability and validity of questionnaire achieved the statistical need,they were very good.Secondly,explore the structure and character of pupils'ways of coping. And use the self-value questionnaire of it to explore the structure and trait of pupils` ways of coping. By exploratory factor analysis,we elicited that pupils` ways of coping consists of escape- aggress,problem resolving,patience- remorse,illusion- distraction and help seeking. Pupils more used resolving problem,and less escape- aggress. And there existed the difference of age and sex.Finally,the relation between pupils` temperament and ways of coping was discussed. and we found that there is significant difference between them, that is to say ,temperament has more effects on pupils'ways of coping.
