On The Causes That Shi Dakai Lost In GuiZhou And Sichuan

Shi Dakai, a outstanding militarist and politician of Peace Kingdom ,led over 100,000 soldiers and began the expedition to the Southwest from the middle of the Yangtse River in May,1875. This was another great split of Peace Kingdom Leader Group after incident of Hong , Yang and Wei . It weakened the whole strength of Peace Kingdom largely, and it was the turning point of Peace Kingdom from victory to ruin .On the other hand ,southwest expedition of Shi Dakai also dispersed the attention from the Qing Dynasty army to the Peace Kingdom, and tactic disposion of Qing dynasty runned into confusion. At the same time, it promoted the uprising for some southwest provinces . Especially ,it made national uprising to run up during Xianfeng and Tongzhi of Qing dynasty in Guizhou , which threatened Qing dynasty greatly .The expedition which Shi Dakai led in the southwest lasted six years and covered eleven provinces. Finally it ruined at the West side of the Dadu River in Sichuan province. There are five main reasons below .In the first place , ideology of moving bandits made Shi Dakai lack steady backside; Secondly, by way of Guizhou province was the fault of tactic. Thirdly , It was difficult for splittist to succeed when revolution situation was in low tide .Fourthly ,they also lack the guidance of advanced class. Thus,they can't unite minority effectively. Finally, most of masses in lower status could not accept the ideology which took God religion as the core .That was, there was no resonance between them. In short , Shi Dakai only attached importance attention to military affairs, but he didn't mobilize and organize the masses. As a result, it made them gradually walked up to the extremity.The expedition of Shi Dakai has already been history, but it also presents some use for reference : no matter who and when , individual or organization ,if one can not make feasible tactic decision, can not attach importance to the ideas by the people ,for the people ,of the people, cannot have the whole idea and keep same with difference , they will not step farther and better on the realistic way.
