This essay starts with the characteristics of the beauty in the form of Mendelssohn's songs without words. On defining and elaborating the musical beauty in the form, attentively discussing about the Mendelssohn's appreciation of the beauty, summarizing the artistic style of songs without words, this essay answered some difficult questions in the research of songs without words, accordingly put forward the new suggestions about piano teaching and piano-play techniques. All of these improved the unique charm on the beautiful form which the songs without words have owned.The first chapter lays the stress on the definition and elaboration about the beauty in the form which is composed of the definition about it, the summary about music forms and the innate character of the beauty in the form. Sequentially, this chapter analyzes the specific reasons why the beauty in forms can give out the unique charm in various artistic musical styles.The second chapter emphasizes the introductions about Mendelssohn and his songs without words. It begins with Mendelssohn's musical experiences, and then, elaborates his musical appreciation of the beauty on the basis of the historical materials. The writer analyzes the reasons how Mendelssohn's artistic styles formed on the research of background the songs without words were in and Mendelssohn's personal experiences.The third chapter analyzes and elaborates the musical appreciation characteristics.
