Children Affected by AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) were becoming more and more with the people who had HIV were all over the world and China. Their parents infected HIV or died of AIDS which have made great stress on these children. So, the government, educational and psychological researchers paid more attention to this question. After searching for the conference, we found the current reports mostly focused on AIDS orphan's mental health and social support , but ignored to investigate their learning stress. We know that great stress will affect mental health, even physical health. So it was necessary to investigate the relationship among life events, coping style and learning stress, and help them find appropriate coping style, and fostered their good mentality.Based on the qualitative research with the subject named"Bereavement and Psychosocial Needs of AIDS orphans in China: A Longitudinal assessment", this study have investigated 240 children affected by AIDS with quantitative research method. There are four kinds of Children affected by AIDS in this thesis, which were AIDS orphans (one or both of their parents died of AIDS), children affected by AIDS directly (living with the parents or families who infected HIV), children affected by AIDS indirectly (living in the area with many people who were infected by the HIV, but their parents were not infected). They were told to fill in the questionnaire. After data analysis, we found the main results as follows:1. Three kinds of children have significant difference in the dimension of life events frequency and the dimension of life events effect. AIDS orphans got the highest score and children affected by AIDS indirectly got the lowest score.2. The total score of the learning stress has no difference in gender. But significant differences were found among grade and sort. The children got greater learning stress with the grade becoming higher. AIDS orphan's score of learning stress was higher than children affected by AIDS directly. 3. Children affected by AIDS indirectly adopt positive coping style more than the AIDS orphan, but there was no significantly difference between AIDS orphan and children affected by AIDS directly, also children affected by AIDS directly and children affected by AIDS indirectly.4. The frequency of life events and the effect of life events were remarkably positive relative to the learning stress; and the effect of life events could predict the learning stress which R2 was 0.093. It meant that the effect of life events can explain 9.3% difference.5. There was remarkably positive relative between negative coping style and learning stress, but there was no obviously relative between positive coping style and learning stress. Regression analysis showed that the effect of negative coping style could obviously predict the learning stress which the R2 was 0.084. It meant that the negative coping style could explain 8.4% difference.6. Negative coping style could be mediator between the effect of life events and learning stress, and it was part media-effect. They all could explain 14.8% difference of learning stress.
