The present author tries to probe into the narrative techniques of Martin Amis displayed in his work Dead Babies. Martin Amis is quite versatile in using various initiative narrative techniques. In general, many of his works display a genius combination of various narrative techniques, which overshadows the humanistic idea of them. At present, it is still hard to classify Martin Amis to any one of the literary schools, but in most cases, he is referred to as one of the experimental writers who are interested in trying new narrative techniques and themes in their works.The omniscient point of view and the epistolary point of view, subversion of the conventional narrative time, transgression of genre, and open-ending are the narrative techniques of Dead Babies on which this thesis elaborates. The present author intends to detect them and expound the adequately, so as to unfold the virtues of Dead Babies and so that the reader may deepen the understanding of the master, Martin Amis's, narrative techniques.Apart from introduction and conclusion, the present thesis on postmodern narrative techniques displayed in Martin Amis's Dead Babies includes four chapters. Chapter I is dedicated to the technique of point of view; Chapter II focuses on Martin's subversion of conventional narrative time; Chapter III is devoted to the transgression of genre detected in Dead Babies; and Chapter IV illustrates the art of the open-ending in Dead Babies.
