A Study On Chu' Diseases And Preventions

Chu'(楚人)health are often seriously threated by natural and social environment in Pre-Qin Period,so Chu'(楚人)diseases and prevention are considered as a common social phenomenon.With the restrictions of materials and historical theory,Chu'(楚人) diseases and preventions are gradually being overlooked by scholars of history.This article takes full advantage of historical documents and the latest archaeological materials to study Chu'(楚人)diseases and prevention preliminarily,and then makes further exploration:whether monarchy replacement has to do with Chu'(楚人)diseases and preventions or not.In the first chapter,this article discusses geographical environment(including rivers and lakers,terrain,climate,and so on)in Jingchu(荆楚)and concludes that Chu'(楚人) health are threated by natural environment.In the second chapter,this article overviews Chu'(楚人)diseases by analyzing three layers and concludes characteristics of the diseases.In the third chapter,this article analyzes the causes of diseases.There are lots of causes of diseases:adverse natural and social environment,war,personal customs,and so on.In the last chapter,this article discusses preventions and treatments of diseases,and finds that wizards and docters play a important role in treating diseases.What is more important is that the state plays a vital role in treating diseases,too.The replacement of monarchy and the country's rise and fall have to do with the quality of treatments.
