The Research About Yan Yanzhi

Yan yanzhi was a famous writer in Southern Dynasty period,now the research to his thesis has still existed a lot of shortages.It is necessary to make the further excavation and discussion.This thesis is consisted of five parts.The first part introduced Yan yanzhi's life experience and thoughts and character.Although Yanzhi suffered from many setback in his life,he still enjoyed lifespan finally.His thought is complicated,including both the traditional Confucian thoughts and the conception of dark learning and Buddhist philosophy.The second part summarized Yan yanzhi'works collection situation and referred to his literature creation.Yan yanzhi had much works,but regrettably,whose majority works had already unexisted.His poetry collection has not yet a very good edition at present,and it has not yet bookmaking which make the note for yanzhi's article to be published until now.ln addition,concerned about Yan yanzhi's poetry creation,author divided into the poetry that is eulogizing the emperor's virtues and achievements and the poetry is unburdening his heart or comparing himself to those forthright and sincere ancients.About the creation of prose and rhapsody,author divided into article that is eulogizing the emperor's virtues and achievements,is archives and ghostwriting article,letter,or works about expressing individual emotion and praising things.No matter were the poetry or the prose and rhapsody,which similarly showed the artistic style.Because yanzhi's works displayed the different artistic trait,eliciting the discussion about literary works style origin in the third part.Yan yanzhi's works style presented differenttraits.Hunting after the reasons,there are four points:first,the powerful minister misgoverned,and the fundamental principle became lax.political struggle had not stopped..many ministers were often involved into the political eddy,were killed.In this situation,literators often concealled their truthful feelings.Second,the king paid more attention to the academic culture,causing valuing and respecting literature in the whole society.because the atmosphere of respecting literature is hot,literators fell over themselves for creating and reciting,which causing people paid more attention to the artistic forming,the artistic skill,literary grace and using of literary quotation.,to some extent.Third,because of Yan family's family tradition and cultural influence. Fourth,relate to Yanzhi's intercourse with friends,beause Yanzhi'living at young times lacked the records of historical material,we don't know the things about who made friends.However,That's no doubt that he made many friends,whose culture,the attitude to something,creating style all have an great effect to his works style forming directly or indirectly.The fourth part discussed the reasons that Yanzhi were"To be famous before death,To be lonely after death".For one thing,Yanzhi'artistie style and skill made him famous,for another thing,changing of aesthetic vaule,criticism of Chen zihang to literature of Qi and Liang period,and more than 200 year classical Chinese literature movements,became the primary reasons that Yan yanzhi were"to be lonely after death".The fifth part is a conclusion,which shortly narrated the Yanzhi'historical achievement,the deficiency of poetry creation and the influence to the later generation literature.Generally speaking,Yanzhi'influence to the later generation literature is obvious.We should not raised Yanzlfi'literature status excessively in Chinese history.However,giving proper attention,it's of a certain significance and vaule to know Liu and Song period and even the Southern Dynasty literature development.
