As the milestone in the 20th century piano music, Debussy's 24 piano preludes have a very important position. They not only stand for the character of Debussy's intermediate stage of creation but also symbolize the aesthetic ideas of the impressionism and, at the same time, show how Debussy developed the artistic achievement of the form "prelude" to a higher level. There have been many analysis and comments from the Academic circle on Debussy's piano preludes but very few on the 7th prelude in book II "La Terrasse des audiences du clair de lune" . Few concrete analysis and interpretation have been written which is why, through all the materials I researched, I hope to supplement the 7th prelude with new ideas on these aspects and to elaborate upon this prelude on different parts such as title, music materials, motives, texture, use of pedal and so on... then conclude with some referential interpretation.
