The paper, taking Lao She's masterpiece Four Generations Under One Roof as a sample, with the analytical methods of counting, comparison and induction, inspects and tests one by one verbs in sentence "Ba" and sentence "Bei" appearing in the novel, analyzes the characteristic of the predicate verbs entering sentences "Ba and "Bei", compares the limiting conditions for the verbs when entering two types of sentences. The type scope of verbs in sentence Bei is wider than that of sentence Ba . Some perceptive verbs cannot appear in sentence Ba but may appear in sentence "Bei". The limiting conditions of bare-verb appearing in sentence "Bei" are less strict than sentence Ba. Many disyllable verbs and even a small number of monosyllable verbs may independently enter sentence Bei to act as the predicate verbs. Obviously it is easier for verbs to find their ways into sentence Bei. Although sentence Ba is less flexible than sentence Bei in admitting verbs, in terms of accepting the bare-verb and add-on tense auxiliary "guo", the limitation is especially strong, it has a bigger variety in sentence patterns. And in the case of the reduplicated verbs being VP, sentence Ba has a much better performance than sentence Bei. Moreover the absolute number of verbs accepted by sentence Ba is bigger than that of sentence Bei.
