Research On Shapes Semantics Based On Science Museum

Modern science museum is a place that explains science and the development of science, inducts the audience to join science and engineering activities through exhibit that can inspire sense feeling and reasonable interest. The essential of science exhibit design is to transmit science information efficiently, exactly, lively and enlighten the audiences'interest on science.Presently, with the rapid development of the science museum, the research on science museum has just begun. The situation can be said as"The giant in practice, the dwarf in theory". Lack of theory and low-level of designer cause many problems in science museum design. The most obvious one of them is the obstacle in choosing design language. Some exhibits didn't transmit science information efficiently, exactly and lively.This article keeps a plain design attitude to explore the essential of exhibit design. Combining with research methodology of science and technology, this article aims to solve the existed problems from the sides of philology, morphologic, design method,aesthetics psychology and cognitive psychology.To reach a high-level effect of learning and realize the targets of popularization education and enlighten education, we should satisfy the youth in the exhibition forms and make the scientifically principle more understandable by the children. Basing on design language theory and combining with the specialties of science museum, I use Morris's theory to promote the shape language analysis frame for science museum. Focusing on the three aspects of this frame, I analyze the science display in the ways of semantics, syntactics and pragmatics with many real display programs. Especially, based on Morris's theory, I assume we can use the rhetoric in the science museum aiming at young audience and conclude the design flow of science museum display shape design,which is a practical way to transmit the science information efficiently.In the last chapter, I analyze how to use this method in science museum with the real exhibitions in Guangdong Science museum.
