It always focuses on the external characters such as morphology, vocabulary number, distributing and recurring to research into the words for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. However, this paper will go deep into the semantic of the words, paying attention to the characteristic of the acceptation-converge in the teaching material. Besides, it also tries to sort out the words basing on the semantic-regimentation, and develops two aspects of research importants as follows:(1) On Chinese Lexicology: The semantic-regimentation of the text book lexicon was depicted as a whole, especially by way of computation. Furthermore, the retrieved figure of statistics was used to get its characteristics and pinciples.(2) On Text Book Compiling in Chinese Teaching as a Second Language: It reviewed and evaluated the Text Book Compiling by studying semantic-regimentation number, distributing as well as tier arrangement. All the investigation would come to a conclusion as follows: whether all the concepts and cagories covered the whole Chinese semantic; whether the arrangement of the study material accorded with the learner's cognizing and acquisition rules. Therefore, it is forcasted that the production of this research will develop certern pratical significance to the logical construction of Text Book Lexicon System and Semantic System.This project is based on three long-term perusal text books which are influential in the area of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. It picked-up all the words relate to 'character and estate' by establishing the conjunction to and < Modern Chinese Semantic Classification Dictionary >, basing on the language material database. It toke an all-wave investigation on the 'character and estate' semantic system by stating the number, types and distributing. So as to present the external general picture and inner structure.As a conclusion, three basic characteristics of the elementary text books in Chinese Teaching as a Second Language were given:(1)The semantic sorts of the text books cover quite an expansive area. In the aspect of accepting or rejecting along with how to arrange the material, the text books keep to the learner's acquisition rules and the pratical principals well. In a word, the whole structure of the text book semantic system is quite reasonable. (2)The words which have single semantic-regimentation are very abundant in the text books. While the words which have two or more than two semantic-regimentations are too exiquous to be well in accordance with that of Modern Chinese.(3)The arrangement order of the lexicons is well distributed by teaching grades as a whole. The semantic-regimentation recurs by means of new words recurring and old words recurring, which not combine tightly. For the new words and old words distribute not proportionedly in each phrase of the text book. Thereby, it needs to improve on the recurring alternation of the semantic-regimentation in text books.
