Study On The Engineers' Ethical Responsibility

As subject of the engineering activities, the engineer will meets various ethics problems in daily work process. Although there is little philosophy research done about ethical responsibility of engineers, this problem has been the core of engineering ethics and the engineering philosophy concerns. Therefore, the study of engineer's ethics responsibility has great value sbothin theory and practice. On the basis of the latest resultsof research in the developed countries, this thesis system atically probles in to some key problems in engineer's responsibility including the concrete categories, engineer's predicament to take on and how to evade the responsibility,etc.Firstly, beginning with the cancept of engineer, the view of evolving history about engineer's ethical responsibility is examined and carries on the concretetreatise to the engineer's ethical responsibility category, and which reveals the engineer's main performances of the responsibility contents combined with the environment that technology developed rapidly and engineering activities became more and more complex.Secondly, this thesis analyse the problems and fundamental reason of the engineers' responsibility. Analyse the ethical issues brought by different types of technology; explain the difficulties of the engineers responsibility and evaluation through the analysis of complexfactors--technology, economy, politics, environment, etc which impact engineeringactivities; as a special occupation, engineers play edamultiple identitiesin conflict with eachother. As a result of the secon tradictions and conflicts, engineers face many problems when assume the ethical responsibility.And then, analyse the ways of engineers how to enhance the ethica lawareness and the courage to shoulder the responsibility of social ethics in engineering activities. Attempt to Sum up effective measures from the application of the technology, the improvement of the project evaluation system and ethics education for engineers.Above all, this thesis will point out definitely is which contains the ethics problems and permeates the ethics factors in the whole process of the engineering activity; engineers certainly will suffer the predicament of implementing their ethical responsibility under the function of the exterior environment and exists the valid method to evade engineer's ethical responsibility.
