| With the development of today’s society, the ethical problems in engineeringpractice become prominent and attract people’s attention. As the key factors in theengineering practice, the engineers responsibility and obligations are restrained by theethics norms. If there is no ethics and professional standards, the engineering practicewill deviate from the direction, and even restrict the development of the economy of oursociety. How to make the ethical norms play an important role in the engineering practicedeserve our research.This study analyzes the research status and significance of ethical problems in theengineering practice, summarizes the research achievements of many experts andscholars, and explores the ethical characteristics and connotation of engineering practice.Ethical characteristics of the engineering practice show mainly as the diversity of thesubjects and levels, and the profound influence. The ethical connotation of engineeringpractice mainly involves the issues of fairness and justice, openness and democracy,responsibility and obligations, loyalty and conscience, goals and risks. On this basis, theprinciples and actions are put forward to help to build the Chinese characteristicengineering practice ethical system. The main principles such as quality, safety, integrity,independence should be followed. Actions, such as establishing and perfecting the legalsystem, improving the innovativeness of the project, popularizing the ethical education,expending the engineering supervision channel, establishing engineering ethicscommittees and professional associations, should be taken. Building engineering ethicssystem with Chinese characteristics relates to the future of the engineering practice of ourcountry and the international competitiveness and influence. As the internationalcommunity pays so much attention to the engineering ethics, our country should improve the understanding of the ethics of engineering and attach more importance to it.Only then can the engineering ethics exert a positive effect, which will enhance thecompetitiveness of our engineering practice. |
