Similarity theory is a sort of theory that studies the interrelation of objective things, which recognizes things from dialectical and unified viewpoint. Similarity represents in lexicon, for instance, phonetics, morphological, semantic and pragmatic similarity and the similarity of structure and function, etc. From the viewpoint of Similarity, integrating with Chinese itself, in this paper we study first-division degree adverb errors from overseas students'written output words to explain reasons that cause these errors. The whole paper is divided into six parts. The first paragraph is introduction which mainly introduces research purpose and background. And, withal this part elaborates specific objects of research, resources and disposal of error corpus. The second paragraph explains the definition of similarity; on this basis, the misuse of first-division degree adverb is divided into six types. Phonetic and morphological similarity and the similarity of part of speech are analyzed in details. The third paragraph, respectively in absolute and relative respects, explains the semantic similarity and the similarity of part of speech error of degree adverb. Inner error of absolute degree adverb represents in the syntax distribution and the selection of syntax type; inner error of relative degree adverb mainly represents in mis-using comparative sentence, that is they do not make it clear what kind of comparative sentence should select what kind of degree adverb; error between relative and absolute degree adverbs mainly represents in whether we understand a sentence is needed to be compared or not.The fourth paragraph studies the semantic error phenomenon of degree adverb, which mainly examines four degree adverbs:"很","十分","非常","多么", whose error examples are more than others. As a result, we distinguish the error word and the target word with semantic similarity in syntax. The fifth paragraph is an experimental supplement to this paper. Its purpose is to inspect whether the error word interferes with the target word selection of overseas students when they confront the error word and the target word. In the experiment, we study several groups of error words and target words in the semantic error; the result indicates that they will interfere with each other. This, to some extent, shows that the similarity has a certain interferential effect on accurately using degree adverbs or target words. The last paragraph is a conclusion of this paper.
