"qingyi" is frequently used in mid and high level text books used in teaching Chinese as a second language. This thesis mainly aims at studying the general syntactic and semantic characteristics of sentences contain "qingyi", expatiating the negative expressions of the sentences, working over the combination of, and the comparison between "qingyi" and relative words.Chapter one is exordium, briefly introduces the significance of the thesis, the status quo of study before and the theory, method used in the thesis.In chapter two, we study the general syntactic characteristics of sentences contain "qingyi".In chapter three, we study negative sentences contain "qingyi", enumerate all the privatives used with "qingyi", sort them according to their syntactic meanings and study the meaning and the transposition of the structure.In chapter four, we study the combination of "qingyi", "interrogative", "auxiliary"and "interrogative+auxiliary", particularly depict the meaning and transposition of the combination and find out the reason of transposition.In chapter five, we study sentences used "qingyi" as an adverbial modifier, summarize semantic characteristics of the sentences, and comparatively study the syntactic structure of the sentences with different semantic characteristics .In chapter six, we compare the syntactic functions and characteristics between "qingyi","rongyi","suibian"and "caoshuai" and depict the similarities, differences and transpositions among these words.In chapter seven, we sum up the text, indicate the deficiency of our work and the direction our future study .
