Witold Lutoslawski is an outstanding Polish composer in the field of twenty century music and one of the most important figures in the polish composer. As a composer, he produced many works over his lifetime. His limited aleatorism deeply influenced the Contemporary music. His distinctive style has influenced extensively their emergence, coexistence and development of different music sects after the Second World War. His works obtain an important position in the twenty century music. His early works resembled the impressionism style of new-classical, however, he gradually formed his own unique artistic glamour while pursuing traditional antiquated music of Poland, reproducing folk music melody and comprehending the law of classicality and romanticism.Variation on a Theme by Paganini, as one of successful works in his early stage, embody mature creative techniques and individuality. What's more, this piece of work is composed for two pianos. Different from the works for solo, this work makes the performance of piano more vivid. With a general look at the musical education provided in the normal university in the present China, we can clearly find the limitations in the aspect of two piano education, such as teaching materials, students'practice of two-piano performance, etc.. But it must be also made clear that both two-piano performance and teaching is comparatively adapted for the requirements of basic education and quality education. This abstract analyzed Witold Lutoslawski and his works in the following aspects:brief introduction of the composer and his works, analysis of Variation on a Theme by Paganini, performance exploration and Two-Piano performance clue and teaching points.
