As one of the most famous composers in contemporary China, Yin Qing has composed more than one thousand vocals, most of which are well-known all over China, and are distinctly characteristic as well which can be summarized as follows:The first one is the time-spirits of reflecting the realities closely. The compositions of Yin Qing always reflect important events and changes in the present ages so timely and punctually that they can be treated as Chronicles of contemporary China, such as the ascending the stage of the history and having been created a new history of the third collective leadership reflected through the song of Walking up to new century, and the large-scale development of the western region seen in Sing freely in the west china and The Sky Road. All of these songs along with Cohesion, The Sky, The Road of Revival, etc, are all in steps with the times. The second one is the pouring forth of the real affections. The lyrics of his vocals are filled with the real affections based on the pouring forth of individuals. And the lyrics are then correspondence with lyric melody of deep emotions and affections by the composer who employs the elements of popular music as well, which can accord with the people's aesthetic psychology for music. The third characteristic is the diversity of the local musical elements which are assimilated in various vocals of Yin Qing, including the musical elements of the south of the Yangtze River as in The path to mulberry leaf harvest, and Missing the South of the Yangtze River, and the musical elements of the northwestern China as in Sing freely in the west china, The love song of the western China, and also the musical elements of Tibet, just as in The Sky Road. All of these elements are infused in the vocals respectively. As a conclusion, it is emphasized that these three characteristics are concentrated to the aim of making the vocals corresponding with the times to the utmost. After that, two items of suggestion for the composition of vocals are proposed.
