" He also said : "The true meaning of teaching reform is to transform the traditional teaching modes and seek the new ones. " Therefore, the inquiry into the teaching modes has been the most active synthetical subject to study in recent years .The inquiry into maths-teaching modes has been done a lot in China and lots of good results have been achieved. The mode "Guide - Try-conclude-Transform-Review-Adjust" has been carried out in Qingpu County of Shanghai, Many other modes have also been put forward, for example , "Attempting Method " by Qiu Xuehua, "Self-study Guiding Method" by Lu Zhongheng, "Gx Method" by Chen Chongmu , "MM Method" by Xu Liquan, and so on.Constrained by traditional teaching ideas and knowledge shackles, all these teaching modes are still deducted in traditional ways. Limited by traditional teaching media, teaehers still depend mainly on chalk, blackboards and textbooks. Whats more, all these modes are mostly tried in primary and junior high schools . It in hard to put them forward in senior high schools. And their theoretical foundations are outmoded as they are not based on the theories of cognitional-phychology and constructivism. So much research work in this field is still to be done. The researches into maths-teaching modes are now in a state of "plateau phenomenon. "This thesis deals with the origin of the maths - teaching modes, its current situation and its turning point.
