Study On Strategic Measures About Key Disciplines Development In Agricultural Universities

Discipline is the basic unit and carrier of the essential structure and function realization in Agricultural Universities. It's also the ultimate criterion used to judge the academic level, comprehensive strength and social reputation of a university. If we think discipline development is a top priority in university tasks, then, the development of key disciplines will be the top priority in discipline development and the core of university tasks. After working on the development of key discipline for over ten years, universities in China have obtained rich experiences and some achievements in terms of theoretic studies and practices. However, up to now, there have been no findings about the systematic studies on the key discipline development in Agricultural Universities. This paper studies on the current situations and measures of key discipline development in Agricultural Universities by the use of the documentary method, investigation, systematic analysis, etc.This paper consists of five sections. Section one introduces the background, objectives, significance, research trends in China and foreign countries, the main content of the research and research method. Section two is about the theoretical basis of the key discipline development in Agricultural Universities. It summarizes and introduces the theory of discipline establishment, discipline development and discipline management. Section three is the current analysis of the key discipline development of Agricultural Universities. It analyzes seven problems in the key discipline development of Agricultural Universities which include the strategic organization and management system, operational mechanism, structure and layout, etc. Section four presents the strategic measures in the key discipline development of Agricultural Universities: realize the strategic significance of key discipline development and put the discipline development into practice, establish and perfect the organization and management system of the key discipline development in Agricultural Universities, further optimize the procedure of the programming, choosing, establishing, appraising, checking and accepting the key disciplines, improve the operational mechanism of the key discipline development in Agricultural Universities, optimize discipline resource scheme, exert the resource efficiency to the fullest, choose and train young leaders of disciplines, form a group of future discipline leaders, speed up the informatization process of key discipline development, innovate and actively adapt to the development of socialist market economy.
