The Comparative Study Of Defence Quality Of Basketball Between Chinese Team And Foreign Team In The 28th Olympic Games

In order to fully recognize the advantages and disadvantages of China man Basketball team defence quality, and to provide some sound suggests for the improvement of defence quality of China man Basketball, the thesis chooses China man Basketball team and its rivals in the 28th Olympic Games as study subject. Based on some research approaches, such as video-records, comparison, investigation, logical analysis, mathematical statistics and documentation data, the thesis conducts a systematic study on defence quality of those teams. There are nine conclusions drawn from the study.There are several conclusions of defence quality drawn from the study. On the aspect of the centre of basketball, defence effects were poor when China Man Basketball players passing and receiving the ball; leak of defence was rather frequent and the intensity of interference was lower when they defense in shot; and they lacked the awareness of occupying legal guarding position in advance when they stole defence rebound. On the aspect of defence index, the amount of steals and forcing rivals to misplay was lower than rivals'; the rate of making a success of converging attack was rather low when they applying basic defence coordination and the use of converging attack for center was fewer. On the aspect of the quality of applying defence tactics, when they used the tactics zonal defence, they couldn't effectively prevent rivals from getting scores, which indicates that China Man Basketball players' coordination and integrity were poorer, and that defence-offence diversion was slower; China Man Basketball players were proficient in using the tactics of man-to-man defence, which made a certain threaten rivals; the frequencies of applying the tactics of man-to-man defence in all zone and of zone converging attack were lower, and the quality of applying those tactics was poorer. On the aspect of offence, the number of players withdrawing defence was lower when defending fast break; the effect of defence was poorer than rivals; when China Man Basketball players defending basic defence coordination, their abilities to defence of dribble's penetration and essential cooperation of continuously defending were poorer, and leak of defence was frequent. When they defending the players without the ball, they prevented rivals from receiving the ball in the restricted area, which reflects that their abilities to choice legal guarding position were poorer than rivals and that the effect of occupying legal guarding position in advance was rather poor. The abilities of China Man Basketball centers to block shots were poorer, the abilities to defence rebound were similar to rivals', and the data about this aspect were better than rivals'.
