A Developmental Research On Education In Rural Area In Shanxi Province During 1920s-30s

During 1920s-30s,educational problem in rural area in china was popular. Education in rural area whose theory and practice left amply historical accumulation, was concerned unprecedentedly by educationist > educational organizations and social circles. Consequently it plays an important role in the history of educational development in China. Taking historical and dialectical materialism as the basic guideline and methodolgy, putting emphasis on the collecting and analyzing of historical records, elaborating on the basis of horizontal comparison, this paper aims to systematize the rising and development of education in rural area in Shanxi province during 1920s-30s from the historical standpoint through studying intensively on historical materials and research result. The paper compares with is contemporary four educational experiments in rural area, summarizes its generalization and specialization. Besides, it reveals its enlightenment on the present reform of educational system in rural area. In a word, from the historical and educational point of view, the paper states systematically education in rural area in Shanxi province during 1918-1937. It lays its stress on time continuity, concrete progress of educational development and the horizontal comparison with contemporaneously educational development in rural area throughout the country.
