Because the public begins to pay more attention to the quality of education and the specialization of teachers, to build a teacher management systems, which can help the specialization of teachers, have become popular. Teacher appraisal, as a part of teacher management systems, should aims mainly at promoting professional development of teachers.The case study of Fengxian Middle School indicates that traditional teacher appraisal cannot promote professional development of teachers. Developing teacher appraisal system, though aims at development of teacher, is usually confined to traditional education concepts.The on-going innovation of curriculum sheds lights on the specialization of teachers, and it also clarify the need for a new appraisal system participated by teachers, students, school leaders and parents. So innovation of curriculum will be a turning point of specialization of teacher.To meet the requirement brought forward by innovation of curriculum, the author brings forward a mechanism to ensure multi-subject appraisal: distributed teacher appraisal. Distributed teacher appraisal set multi-subject appraisal on the bases of multi-values, and emphasize the divergences of difference subject, and so some principles is required. Distributed teacher appraisal provides theoretic supports for multi-subject appraisal.
