Content: 21 century is the century of media, people need media literacy to face the media and the information communicated by it independently, make correct decisions and then use it.The research on literature indicated that the scholars in China put emphasis on the basic of media education such as its history, concepts and significance, but there were little research on the concrete aspects like its contents and the way to implement it. And there were not many practices.This thesis discussed the necessity of media education in Nanchang by a questionnaire, then by analyzing the literature of foreign and domestic scholars, it elicited a system of the contents of media education. With the interview of two experts and that of some teachers and students in Nanchang, it made a content system that they wished. Finally, it concluded the content system of media education in Nanchang's primary and high school according to the above analysis, questionnaire and interview.The point of this thesis is that we should construct the content of media education in Nanchang's primary and high school from four aspects.The first aspect is media consciousness, it means that students can use, take part in and supervise media self-consciously.The second part is media knowledge. Students should know the concept, history, function, operating flow, law and ethic of media, and can use them.The third aspect is media capability. It includes three kinds of abilities. Students should know the environment and effect of communication, should reflect from the information communicated by media and can produce or create by media.The fourth aspect is media ethic. Students should obey the laws and rules of media using and should instruct others with the media ethic.This research has its significance because it can provide the primary and high school with the concrete contents and standards of media education.Due to the limitation of time and energy, I didn't make research on the educators' media education although I had surveyed them. I didn't have the opportunity to develop the practice of students' media education, either.
