Athletic competitions are competitive activities, which take events as content, take sporting regulation as measure, aim at winning-cup, educating-people, or making-profit. From last century, with the impulse of the International Olympic Movement, international and domestic athletic competition scale expand increasingly, events held frequently, sporting technique rise at vast scale, multi-functions of athletic competition come into being increasingly. Every country looks up to athletic competitions, the competition for undertaking large scale international competition becomes increasingly intense. From the angle of athletic competition, establishing a athletic competition system, which adjusts to market economy, coincides athletic competition rule, fair and reasonable, is a premise that ensures athletic competition play multi-function and important conditions of arising sporting technique.The dissertation takes international and domestic competitions held by China, especially the National Games, as research objections, takes market economy theory as theory redline, runs through sports fair logos, studies the basic theory of athletic competition system, advantages and disadvantages of existing competition system, the principle of fair competition system, and reform countermeasures of competition system.
