| National Games is the biggest, highest and most influential standard comprehensive event, and also plays a great role in various economic, cultural and sports development in local area. It is the display window of the overall strength, and also adds new impetus in economic growth for the host city.Firstly, this paper estimates the pulling effect on economic growth generated by investment in the construction of venues and supporting infrastructure around the 11th National Games of the organization in 17 cities of Shandong Province. The growth of Shandong's GDP that the direct investment in venue construction brings respectively is 0.25%,0.28%,0.26%of total, and 1.75%,1.45%,2.86%of incremental. Considering the investment into the construction of supporting facilities, the total of direct and indirect investment is about 100 billion Yuan during 2007-2009.Secondly, this study analyzes the important role that holding the National Games plays for promoting industrial upgrading in Shandong. The National Games Economy will bring the rapid development in construction industry, sports industry, manufacturing and service industries, particularly in the service industry of the Tertiary industry.Thirdly, The National Games Economy plays a positive role in radiating economic around in Shandong, improving the economy of the brand and realizing economic growth in the environmental of Financial Crisis. Holding National Games in Shandong give a good opportunity to build a brand and corporate brand. Finally, while maximizing economic benefits, the Shandong Province need to pay attention to the negative effects, such as the siphon effect, low effect and the crowding-out effect and so on.
