Clinical Observation Of Traditional Chinese Medicine Fumigation In The Treatment Of Cataract Surgery - Related Dry Eye

Objective:cataract is a common blinding eye disease in the field of ophthalmology, which seriously affect the patients’ visual quality。Since drug treatment is not effective to prevent or reverse phacoscotasmus, surgical treatment is still the main treatment of various kinds of cataract。With the improvement of cataract surgery method and the constant innovation of intraocular lens and implanted devices, ultrasonic emulsification cataract surgery is widely carried out in the clinical due to its advantages, such as small incision, ect.Dry eye is one of the common complications of cataract surgery, which is seriously affect the life quality of the patients after the operation。There are many treatments of dry eye, the drug treatment such as artificial tears, anti-inflammatory therapy and immunosuppressive therapy, etc, and surgical treatment of severe patients. But the effects are not so good.Herbal fumigation has many functions,such as medication,heat,steam treatment and ion penetration,etc,so it has certain advantages for the treatment of dry eye. This topic uses prospective randomized controlled clinical trials on the basis of previous research results,aims to observe the changes of Schirmer I test,tear break-up time,corneal fluorescein staining and subjective symptom scores before and after therapy,to study the efficacy of herbal fumigation in the treatment of dry eye after cataract surgery.Through the experiment,we hope to provide new ideas for the treatment of dry eye after cataract surgery and enrich the application of Chinese medicine external treatment in ophthalmology.Methods:(1)choose 60 patients who underwent cataract surgery after1 week and comply with the criteria for the diagnosis of dry eye,and then devide them into 2 groups.Treatment group:herbal fumigation plus artificial tears;Control group:artificial tears.(2)The treatment group includes herbal fumigation with Chinese medicine includes medlar,chrysanthemum,dwarf lilyturf,mulberry leaf,mint,radix scrophulariae,rhizoma ligustici wallichii,radix bupleuri,1time a day,15 minutes ehch time,and in combination with sodium hyaluronate eye drops,4 times a day,The control group:sodium hyaluronate eye drops,4 times a day.(3)period of treatment:14 days is a period of treatment.(4)observation of indicators: Schirmer I test,tear break-up time,corneal fluorescein staining and subjective symptom scores.(5)Contrast the objective indicators and subjective symptom scores of the treatment group and the control group before andafter the treatment, to evaluate their curative effect in the aspect of improving postoperative dry eye.Results:comparing the Schirmer I test,tear break-up time,corneal fluorescein staining and subjective symptom scores of treatment group and control group before and after treatment,P<0.05, all of them have statistical significance.So,both of them can improve the objective indicators and subjective symptoms of patients.Comparing the curative effect of treatment group and control group,in the aspect of the Schirmer I test,corneal fluorescein staining and subjective symptom scores,P>0.05,it don’t have statistical significance.So there are not so much difference between treatment group and control group in improving the Schirmer I test,corneal fluorescein staining and subjective symptom scores.In the aspect of tear breaking-up time,P<0.05, it has statistical significance.So the treatment group is better than the control group in the aspect of improving the tear breaking-up time.Conclusions:the treatment group can improve the Schirmer I test,tear break-up time,corneal fluorescein staining and subjective symptom scores of the dry eye patients after cataract surgery and is better than the control group in the aspect of improving the tear breaking-up time,prompting herbal fumigation has good curatie effect for dry eye patients after cataract surgery.
