ObjectiveA survey of Dalian Medical University eye clinic the prevalence of dry eye. Statistical analysis of the incentives dry eye patients, symptoms, signs and clinical examination results, to further improve the understanding of dry eye.Methodsrandomly selected 1 November 2010 to December 30, 2010 to Dalian Medical University Hospital eye clinic with 235 patients who have complained dry eye , were divided into seven age groups, and conducted the first survey, further Slit lamp examination, tear breakup time measurement, inspection meniscus tear lake, sodium fluorescein staining, Schirmer's I test, Survey data on the use of SPSS17.0 software for statistical analysis.ResultsThe survey of the total number is 235 person (470 eyes), the survey of average age is 48.55±15.77 year old in patients.A total number of women is 158, accounting for 67.23%, A total of 77 men, accounting for 32.76%, male to female ratio was 1:2.05, The number of men's and women paired t test results, t =- 3.859, p = 0.008, p <0.05, the number of men and women in this survey were significant difference. Eye clinic in our hospital complained of dry eye patients with dry eye symptom prevalence was 45.10%, 50.63% prevalence of dry eye disease, dry eye syndrome prevalence was 4.25%, 32.76% prevalence rate of men <Women Prevalence rate of 67.23% and female prevalence was significantly higher than men. the prevalence of men and women with chi-square analysis comparing the results of x~2 = 20.687, p <0.05, male and female prevalence rates were significantly different. In the investigation of the 470 eyes BUT≤5s for 236, accounting for 50.21%, BUT in the 6-10s for 167, accounting for 35.53%, 85.74% in this survey have complained of dry eye in patients with unstable tear film; in Schirmer's I test in 373 eyes≤10mm/5min, accounting for 79.36%, with corneal staining for the 207 eyes, accounting for 44.04%, tear meniscus check of 412 lake eye abnormalities, accounting for 87.65%. Men and women with dry eye disease duration paired t test t =- 0.223, p = 0.831, p> 0.05, no significant difference. For each age group of dry eye dry eye disease duration and the number of results for the Pearson correlation analysis using correlation: -0.301, significance (bilateral): p> 0.05, dry eye not associated with disease duration. The content of the survey the frequency of subjective symptoms from the more to less as follows: dry eye> Eye fatigue> itching> sensation> eye pain> headache> dry mouth, dry throat> blurred> red eye> tears> burning> a mucus secretions. Investigate the content that appears bad habits from the more to less frequency were: long-term computer> Eye Beauty> long drive> for a long time with air conditioning> Smoking> insomnia. Dry eye and corneal staining, BUT determination Lake meniscus tear checks, schirmer'sⅠcorrelation analysis of experimental results were related to determination of dry eye and BUT, schirmer'sⅠtest at 0.01 level was significantly correlated; and corneal staining and tear meniscus Lake Check the 0.05 level was significantly correlated; the dry eye examination results were significantly related. Dry eye and the contents of this survey in bad habits, with different occupations and the subjective symptoms were significantly related to analysis of the correlation, which were significantly correlated with each other.Conclusion1, Eye clinic in our hospital complained of dry eye patients with dry eye symptom prevalence was 45.10%, 50.63% prevalence of dry eye disease, dry eye syndrome prevalence was 4.25%, 32.76% prevalence rate of men <women prevalence rate of 67.23% and female prevalence was significantly higher than men. 2, dry eye disease and age, sex, menopause, occupation, long-term use of eye drops, air conditioning, heating, computers are related. 3, the results of this survey the frequency of subjective symptoms from the more to less as follows: eye dryness, eye fatigue, itching, foreign body sensation, eye pain, headache, dry mouth, dry throat, blurred vision, red eye, tearing, burning sensation There mucus secretions. 4, eye clinic in our hospital have complained of eye dryness to the final diagnosis in patients with dry eye based.
