His unique academic thoughts in the integrated TCM and conventional western medicine have been gradually formed from his daily clinical practice. The pathogenesis and etiology are the first important thing to make a comprehensive understanding of tumors. As for the theory of inner deficiency, Professor Wang, based on his clinical observations, points out that seven emotional factors and diet are two most important factors, and they have intimaterelationship with the progress of tumors. He also thinks that the inner deficiency is another fundamental factor, and points out that it is impossible for exogenous pathogenic factors to invade into patient’s bodiesand then cause disease when the vital energy of patients is abundant.Surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy are three main modalities used to treat cancer in the modern treatment of western medicine. Their disadvantages are theirnegative influences on patient’s bodies. For example, organs and normal tissues are destroyed in almost all operations. Professor Wang’s theory of inner deficiency indicates that adjusting the internal environment is the main approach. He also found that some herbal medicine can also assist the recovery of immune system after radio or chemotherapy. Based on long-term clinical observation, Professor Wang suggested that blood stasis and Qi deficiency are two important syndromesof cancer patients. He analyzes their relationship and then develops some formulae. Theseformulae have been proved to be effective and helpful for many cancer suffers.
