A Study Of Mozi 's "Non - Music"

From a broad sense,"music" is a comprehensive art form including poetry, song and dance in ancient China, it is an undiffererntiated synthsis of ancient art, in narrow sense, it is referring to music. In dealing with the proplem of music,different school and different people have own unique views and opinions, so thus formed a wide varity of views. Mozi expound himeslfe view about "music" in "feiyue","sanbian" and "gongmeng". Mozi puts of the view of "feiyue" because the etiquette of manufactuering, playing and enjoying the music is complexed, and waste of resource. We think the view, can not only see the surface, we should also combine Mozi’s background class position, we should also combined Mozi’s ten main ideas to study the deep meaning. The idea of "feiyue" throughout the ideas of "jieyong","feiru" and "jianai". And, the "music" in the idea of "feiyue" for the Confucian music culture."Feiyue" pointed out that the Confucian music culture’ etiquette is complexed, and it is a great harm for country and its people. The idea of "feiyue" and Confucian’s music culture is relative. At the same time, the idea of "feiyue" and Taoism have the same direction, but the starting point is different.
