| Tang Yifen(1778—1853), also named as Yusheng, Zhouweng and Qinyin taoist, was born in Wujin city of Jiangsu province. He inherited Yunqiwei post, and served as the chief of Sanjiang battalion. Before retirement, he held the rank of Leqing Xiefujiang in Zhejiang province. Late in life, he lived in Nanjing city which was saked in1853by armed forces of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. Faced with such circumstances, Tang Yifen drowned himself, and got a posthumous name as Zhenmin. These above-mentioned are according to<The Chronicle of Tang Zhenmin> written by Chen Tao.This thesis deals with the life stories and literary creations of Tang Yifen during his tenure of chief in Sanjiang battalion. Now there is no study specialized in this field at home and abroad. This thesis is based on memorials to the throne about Tang Yifen’s dismission from office, which are kept in China’s first historical archive library. Combined with the painting<suspended fishing in autumn> and its inscriptions, this thesis tries to accurately grasp the mental process of Tang Yifen as the chief of Sanjiang battalion, there by study his literary creations in a "comment the man and the world" way.The first chapter of the thesis mainly describes the content of literary creations, on the basis of sorting out Tang Yifen’s whereabouts. The second chapter starting from poems to analyse Tang Yifen’s official attitude, and then tell the whole story about dismission from office in line with memorials to the throne. The third chapter explores Tang Yifen’s mentality after dismission around the painting<suspended fishing in autumn> and its inscriptions.The fourth chapter analyses the artistic feature of "poems by artist" with basis of different genres. |
