China and Japan are close neighbors separated only by a strip of water. As early asthe third Century, Chinese characters were introduced to Japan, which laid a solidfoundation for China and Japan are the major countries among Chinese characters culturalcircles,. Through1700years’ evolution, it forms a lot of homographs between Chineseand Japanese. Homographs are classified into homographs with the same meaning,homographs with different meaning and homographs with similar meaning. Amongwhich homographs with the same meaning commonly have positive effects on Japaneselearners of Chinese. However, homographs with different meaning and homographs withsimilar meaning have negative effects on Japanese learners of Chinese with the result thathomographs become the emphasis and difficulties for Japanese learners of Chinesevocabulary.This paper makes a comparison of homographs among semantics, pragmatics andgrammars from multi-angles. In terms of semantics, mainly starting from the semanticcategory and compares3circumstances, that is, Japanese semantic category is wider thanChinese; Chinese semantic category is wider than Japanese and Chinese and Japanesesemantic category is crossed. In terms of pragmatics, mainly starts from the point of viewof ancient style and present style, formal style and casual style and commendatoryemotions and derogatory emotions, makes a comparison of pragmatic usages in eachlinguistic system. Moreover, beginning from the aspect of collocation of verb–object andmodifier-head phrases, make a study of differences and similarities of the collocationtargets. In terms of grammar, starting from the point of view of different parts of speechbetween Chinese and Japanese, through the error analysis towards4pairs of modelsentences, figures out the differences in the aspect of parts of speech of homographsbetween Chinese and Japanese.By research methods of literature review, investigation and contrastive analysis, findout the differences and similarities between the Chinese and Japanese teachers as areference to the teachers who teach Chinese as a foreign language for Japanese students inthe future and also provide some practical learning method to the Japanese studentslearning homographs, so as to achieve the purpose of the successful acquisition of secondlanguage.
