The thesis based on the errors of citations in Hanyu Da Zidian(汉语大字典)(Second Edition) in Radical mu(木) for the research. Regarding the fundamental theory of textual criticism as guidelines, radical mu(木)are collated exhaustively by duijiao(对校),lijiao(理校), tajiao(他校).The whole thesis is composed of four chapters.Chapter one is a introduction. This chapter mainly introduces the status of research Hanyu Da Zidian(汉语大字典) and the scope and reason of the selection topic. This chapter divides the present study of Hanyu Da Zidian(汉语大字典) in the academic circle into three parts:pointing out the defects, making textual criticisms and explanations, amending some errors. This chapter points out that the scope of the paper is the citations in Hanyu Da Zidian(汉语大字典)Second Edition) in Radical mu(木). The reasons of selecting radical mu(木)besides the states and significance of research on the current. Firstly, time and personal energy is limited during the Master’s degree. Therefore, collating length should not be too much. Thirdly, in consideration of the systematicness of the paper, choosing a radical whose length is appropriate is more proper.Chapter two is the errors of the Chinese character in citations. Mainly based on text classification method, the chapter divides errors of the Chinese character in citations into four parts: the missing words, the mistakes of texts, the unwanted words, the reversal words. These four parts are respectively separated into two parts according to the errors of the content in citations and the errors of title and author in citations. This chapter is the main content of the paper. The second section, the mistakes of texts in citations, is a focal point of chapter two. With respect to the each error in citations, the paper has carried on the detailed investigation and made interpretation according to the actual situation.Chapter three is the errors of punctuation in citations. The chapter points out the inappropriate use of punctuation in Radical mu(木) in citations.Chapter four is the conclusion and other discussion. Conclusion points out that the total of errors in citations is 508, including the errors of Chinese character and punctuation.The number of the errors of Chinese character in citations is 485.
