The Scheme for the Chinese Phonetic Alphabet as an important tool to learn Chinese characters and promote Mandarin Chinese, since introduced in the 1950 s,has made great contributions to the development of science and technology,and universal education. At the same time it has been widely used in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and played an important role. But the plan has so many shortages that increase the difficulty of foreigners’ learning and hindering the promotion of Chinese language. So a lot of experts and scholars in China had put forward suggestions on modification and simplification the scheme,but a few linked the plan and the practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language for discussion.In my paper, The research on The Scheme for the Chinese Phonetic Alphabet on Teaching Chinese as a foreign language, I want to summary the positive applications in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and find the problems exist in it,and put forward some suggestion on the perspective of Chinese teaching.We hope it can provide some help for the teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
